I would like to combine the process of authoring and burning into a single step. Right now, I use DVDauthorGUI to create the VIDEO_TS directory and then I use another program to burn to a DVD. The problem is that each step takes about 20 minutes and I have to come back to my PC between the two steps and do the burn. Is there a way I can tell DVDAuthorGUI to burn directly to the DVD? I was thinking maybe I could run from a DOS prompt and have two lines in the DOS file such as:
dvdauthorgui /make_iso project.dva
another_program /burn project.iso
or something like that. Any ideas?

Instead of using the gui from the command line, why not just use dvdauthor from the command line? Use mplex to multiplex the elementry streams together, dvdauthor to author the titles, mkisofs to create the image. (all of these tools are located in the bin directory). Then use dvd decryptor from the command line to burn the iso.
DVDAuthorGUI is self documenting. Just look at the BAT file that it creates and you will see the necessary commands needed to use all of these tools from the command line. (except for dvd decryptor. refer to its documentation on burning from the command line) -
Thanks. This is EXACTLY was I was looking for! I did not realize that DVDAuthorGUI created a bat file. But when I looked, there was a file called "process.bat". I can't believe I never thought of checking there. But I guess that's why we have forums. I really appreciate your suggestions.

under 'file' click, 'edit xml prior to authoring'. Now click 'Author' and enter the folder name. It will then open a text editor that allows you to edit the xml. At this point, simply close it. The gui will prompt you if you want to save changes. You can click yes or no. Then, it will as if you wish to continue with the authoring process. Just click 'no'. You will then find all of the bat/xml/button images in the dvdauthorgui folder.
