hey i havent been downloading in ages and jut formatted my comp so i have no codecs installed...

what do people suggest as a good foundation of codecs to start off with on your computer so that most vids and movies will play?

  2. Use gspot to check your files and ONLY install the ones you need.

Codec packs are more trouble than they are worth.

  4. Xvid, (maybe Divx too), MPEG 2, DV if you have a digital camcorder. probably AC3 for audio.
