  1. Topics really need more space so I don't sound like a damned caveman.

I made a dvd from avis I turned into mpg2 files. Authored a DVD and thought it was fine, deleted all my files, and later when I put it in I realized I screwed up one part of the menu pretty bad.

Is there any way to get the files into their mpg/ac3 separate components easily, or take the existing menu and throw it into a program and reauthor it? (used TMPG Author before).

    Thanks

  2. If only the menu is messed up you can load it back into TMPGEnc DVD Author and redo it.

  3. I'm pretty sure that GUI for DVD Author accepts vob files, the files on the dvd. So you could just import them in from your disk, redo your menus, and reburn your disk.

  4. I can't load it back into TMPG dvd author because the files it referenced (mpg and ac3) aren't there, so even if I messed around with the menu it won't save it.

The DVD Author program seems fine for making things, but not quite for editing. Didn't quite figure out what I'm supposed to do if the option exists.

No, he meant load the files from the DVD back into TDA. There's also the option to rip them back to your hard drive (checkbox).

Use "Add DVD video" in DVD Author, you don't need the original files.

  7. Thanks for the help everyone. I guess I was trying to edit the current track instead of just deleting it and doing the add dvd video. Doh. Works just fine, thanks much
