I was happy to be able to record my first VCD last night. I used two ten second clips as a test.

Two things happened when I played it back on my VCD compatible DVD Player. When the first clip was done and it rolled in to the second one, there was audio but no video, when I hit the |<< button to restart the track, there was video and audio.

Next, the video that played seemed to have some hesitation from time to time.

I tried both NTSC and PAL formats using VCDEasy. VCDEasy seemed to work great after I figured out how to get around the ASPI issues...

Thanks in advance for your time,

    James

maxxcorp, you need to give us a few clues about your setup. In particular, are you capturing and then encoding with an offline encoder like tmpgenc, or are you capturing to mpeg directly?

In either case, did you make sure to use the "VCD" template for mpeg encoding? The symptom you describe sounds to me like the bitrate is too high, which shouldn't have happened if you used the right template.
