  1. i have a movie in avi format and i used tmpegnc to make it into a mpeg-2 and then i burned it to a dvd. when i went to watch it everything came out perfect execpt i had no sound at all. can somebody give me step by step details on how i can fix this problem...........many thanks.

    First put the AVI into AVIcodec and see what kind of sound you have. If it is MP3 VBR you should extract the audio to WAV with a program like Virtualdub and use that with TMPGenc.

  3. i used the avi codec program to find out what audio it had , all it tells me is that the audio is unsupported. so what do i do now.....

    Open it in VDub anyways and see if it will let you extract the audio & save to WAV.

  5. This is the way I do it. After converting your avi to mpeg2, open the same avi in virtualdub and extract the audio to wav. From here you can either open both files in tmpgenc and author the dvd, or use ffmpeg to convert the wav to an ac3. Both wav and ac3 are supported by dvd, but I think ac3 use more compression.
