I have a class this semester that requires the use of C++ and I only have Visual Studio Enterprise, it comes with VC++ of course and I wanted to know if I could use it to develope in c++ or if these 2 are radically different.
If I cant, is there any FREE c++ IDE out there?

If it's a reasonably recent version of Visual C++ it should be fine. You'll need to create your project as a win32 console app. Just type your code in the editor, don't use any of the pointy-clicky toys.

Yeah I have 6.0. I also have .net but I know it mainly likes making .net CLR needing apps.
