The guides are located along the top left of the screen. That's far faster than waiting for someone to reply with the same information.

Please read the guides yourself and don't ask members for step-by-step instructions - even if you're in a hurry. That's all covered in the guides, and you'll just have to read them yourself. Good luck with your project

  13. Some people here are a bit prone to jumping to conclusions, don't worry about it.

Why would it be compressed into a .rar file? The only reason I could see for this would be to allow a smaller file transfer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  15. Actually, it kind of sounds like a downloaded/pirated movie. I saw a report about piracy on TechTV, and it sounds similar to this. Here's what I remember:

Bootleggers often compress a DVD into an image file (in this case, an IMG file) and then compress the image into a set of RAR files. Also, the bootlegger groups often enclose a VOB file called a "sample." The sample contains a short clip from the movie/program to show what kind of quality the bootleg is. According to TechTV, similar methods are used for VCD bootlegs.

I hope that it isn't a bootleg that you are dealing with, because that is definitely frowned upon here. Giving the benefit of the doubt, check the burning tools section of this site. You should find something that will burn IMG files.

they probably used some butchering tool to strip the crap out and failed miserably

that's what you get with these 'types' of DVD's, a no work/no money back guarantee

it would be a rather simple to fix if you done a few things but I don't wish to help as I have my doubts as to the legality of this DVD :P

p.s. you could always 'obtain' it again as maybe one of the RAR files is corrupt

Riiiiiiiight, you're not trying to burn a pirated movie.

It's got a VOB sample, came compressed in RAR files, but it's not a dvd rip huh?

I've spent some time on Suprnova. I've been around the block.

Replica is a DVD rip and supply group; it's a guaranteed pirate copy.

What you do is your business, but just to be safe, I suggest that you don't ask about those things here on the forum at least. Look in the guides and I'm pretty sure that you'll find your answers quickly.

And just to answer your question, the next time you get an .img file, give either DiscJuggler or Alcohol 120% a go...you should be fine from there.
