    newbie i have a hitachi gsa4081b my firmware was updated from a v102 to v104 i cant burn any dvds using maxell and memorex -r i also get writing error half way thru the movie thanks

    Where did you get the firmware? If it's a factory update, you're probably OK. If you got it from Hacker Bob's Firmware Page, .......

    I was having a similar problem. Putting my LG burner into a firewire case resolved the issue....
