i'm not sure what the heck i'm doing wrong but the world of the vcd seems not to want me in it. I exported my fcp project as an uncompressed quicktime dv stream. i then dropped it in to toast and chose vcd. it incoded and i burned it. what the heck neither my mac or my jvc dvd player(it is listed as a player that plays vcd & svcd). I must be doing something wrong, but my dvd player doesn't even recognize that there is disc in it...
help me please!!

Ok, your DVD player probably doesn't support CD-R's try using CD-RW's.
And what is the problem on the Mac?
What did you use to play it on your Mac?
I never tried to convert a DV file with Toast but as far as I know it should be possible, but you can always try it with a Quicktime export. Try the DV codec the quality won't be that bad.

If your DVD player also plays audio CDs then burn an audio CD-R and verify your player laser system etc can read the disc.
Toast 5 came with a sample disc that includes MPEG-1 files that you can use to create a video CD with known good format. Then you can work the DV problem
