If I right click on a gif,win xp will only allow me to svae it as a bitmap.How do I change this?

mine does the same thing
I started to use mozilla when i need to save pictures -
bitmap should be a good, 24 bit representation of the file... once downloaded you can use PSP or other apps to convert to JPG, GIF or whatever flavor you desire.
Edit: Hmmm.. this work machine has W2K and if I right click BMP and JPG are given as an option -
Sometimes, deleting your temporary internet files clears up this problem, and allows you to save .gifs as .gifs again. If you're trying to save animated .gifs, saving as .bmps doesn't always give you the full effect.
Click on the Land O Lakes butter maiden's knees for further details.
In Internet Explorer, click on Tools | Internet Options..., then under Temporary Internet Files click on Delete Files....
