Trying out the above, but when I come to save a file after editing it, the 'save' box only shows 3 of the 7 options wirh regard to format.

    Mpeg-vcr Edit Decision List
Mpeg Video Elementary Stream (Video only) (Shown as default)
    Mpeg-2 Program Stream SVCD

    The following are greyed out

Mpeg-1 System Stream (Audio & Video multiplexed)
    Mpeg-1 System Stream Video CD
    Mpeg-2 Program Stream
    Mpeg-2 Transport Stream

Basically all I want to do is edit an mv2 file and save it to Mpeg-2 Program Stream

    Hello,
You can try tmpgenc. It has a 30 day trial for mpeg2 encoding.

Before you give up on Womble I would send them an e-mail. They seem to be one of the companies that actually have a live competent person answer.

Thanks trolltuning - I've now done so and received the following message:

    Hello,
Please note that the MPEG multiplexer formats are
closely related to and restricted to the underline video
    and audio elementary streams.
Those greyed out formats is because the current data
is an MPEG-2 video only stream; and there is no
practical use to add additional packet data without audio.
Try to open an MPEG file with sound and check this again.

Looks as if my capture program didn't capture the audio. I'm still looking for a decent capture program.

Are you using an ATI AIW card/Creative Audigy card combination? I found that the ATI program resets the audio input to "Line-in 2/aux 2", and it has to be re-set before starting capture. I use the "What u hear" option.
