Hello,
2 gigs? It can fit on the dvd. Just make a video_ts folder and drop it in (use ifo edit to split it into 1 gig chuncks).
Why don't you just recopy the vob? If it's a demo disc it won't be small since it has a lot of clips.
You won't lose dts if you don't mess with the audio.

duh, the vob files cant be that large to make a compliant dvd you would have to burn udf and it wont play in a dvd player, thats why on a dvd there are multiple vob's that are under 2 gig the dvd format for video is
kinda like fat 32 with file size limitations and udf is like ntfs with none but
standalone dvd players wont see it as a dvd video and brings up a file viewer (at least on an apex) -
You could use Nero Vision Express. Bring the vob into NVE and cut into
two parts and then re-render/author it without a chapter point where you split the vob. Now you can either burn it directly to a DVD or to a new video_ts folder.
I am not sure about the preservation of DTS but I believe the sound will
still be in sinc and should be of a good quality.

Whoever ripped this must have had it set to output to a single file instead of keep it in the same sizes as on the disk.
I'm not positive that this will work, but it would be the first thing I'd try.
Use IMGTools classic to create a DVD iso. Mount this with DaemonTools so that it functions just like a burnt disk. Now re-rip this using something like DVD Decryptor and make sure that it is set to split to .99 gig chunks. It will maintain the complete structure of the disk and everything will function the same, the files will just be smaller. The only problem I can see would be if IMGTools classic would reject it since its non-compliant, but it just might work.
If you have 2 hard drives and set these programs to read from one and output to another, then this whole process will take only 5-10 mins. -
Open it with Smartripper. Smartripper will re-rip from files already on your HD,folder icon in the upper right corner opens a normal windows navigation box. Make sure that Smartripper is set to rip in standard 1GB files, that's it's default.

Unless you fix the IFO file(s), or Re-Author, just re-ripping probably WON'T work.
To me, demuxing and reauthoring would seem the easiest way (unless there's a lot of menu's & extras).
