  1. I have been recording disks on the LiteOn 5001 on DVD+RW disks, copying an ISO image to hard drive, and then burning this to DVD+R disks. It works very reliably. I rip the image with DVD decrypter, and then any program that writes ISO images will work to burn it.
My pc's DVD writer is a combo +-RW drive. If I get some DVD-R disks, can I copy the ISO images to them just like the +R disks? I think I read somewhere that the +VR format created by the LiteOn 5001 will only work on +disks, but I'm not sure. Has anyone done this successfully?

+VR format is basically an extension of the most compatible DVD-Video format, and the 5005 model writes +VR format on all types of DVD media. So you should have no problem copying the ISO images to any DVD media at your choice, but proper playback still depends on each individual player.
