  1. Hi...

Just upgraded my LG4040B to a LG4120B. With the new burner I am getting scsi command abort errors in Nero 6.

I never got this error with the LG4040B. However I did get the error with a LG4081B and thought it was bad hardware. Took it back to the store and they exchanged it for a LG4120B.

I'm running Windows XP Sp1. The burner is master on my mobo's secondary ide. The slave is a LG DVD-Rom. I've uninstalled Nero 6, used the Nero Clean Tool and reinstalled Nero. Same problem. So I then uninstalled Nero, ran the Nero clean tool and installed Nero Express 6 that came with the burner. I still have the problem.

The only other burning software I have installed is Tmpgenc Author and DVDShrink....

I searched the forums here and it seems the SCSI COMMAND ABORT is relative to burners in USB cases, which is not the case with me as my burner is an ide burner....

    Any thoughts.....

    TIA

    Kenmo

You might try updating your ASPI drivers with the new drive installed.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

I'd probably try Nero first, since you've already been using Nero. If that doesn't work I'd try Adaptec. Those are both listed in the Tools section over there.

  5. The driver there for Nero aspi mentions Windows 95/98 and was the readme is from 1999. I'm running Windows XP and my WNASOI32.DLL is much newer.

On my Windows XP I do not have the folder iosubsys or the file neroapix.vxd....

  6. Try downloading an older Nero Aspi. Thats what I did and it worked. I use a USB external case though. I got an older version off of driverguides.com

  7. I uninstalled Nero, used the Nero Clean Tool and installed the Sonic demo of Record Now Max (ver 6.x). I still was having the burner freeze.

I removed the burner from my computer and stuck it into an external firewire case.

I've been able to burn two DVDs in a row....No coasters yet. Burning a third and it looks good so far.

I did notice when I had my burner as an ide device (master on 2nd ide with a LG DVD-Rom as slave) that the USB SanDisk (card reader for my digital camera) would flash on and off during burning. It was like the burning software was confusing my DVD bunrer and my SanDisk. It would due it periodically (maybe 2 or 3 times) during the burn.

  8. Any thoughts or comments on why the burner works ok as firewire but not as ide ?
