  1. I've spent a lot of time trying various bits of software and reading through a multitude of 'help me' posts to get an idea of what's what. And finally I find that my Panasonic E50 DVD-RAM drive does a very fast real time job on capturing whatever is thrown at it. And as more authoring software supports DVD-RAM .vro files - life seems to be getting simpler on the PC (still not quite stable though).

    So, I am thankfully now down to just three stages of getting VHS tapes or DV camcorder output onto a DVD.

    Don't like Panasonic image quality... but...

    for perfect source (ie, stuff from tv) I use the recorder these days.
    I save my ATI cards for real work.

    Rip discs to the PC and use just like any other video source
