  1. Hello

When i try to look at my TMPGEnc (DVD) mpg encodes explorer alway crashes, specially if ive got "thumbnails" on, thumbnails dont preview anything though. If i manage to doubleclick the mpg WMP starts and immediatly looks on net for new codecs (unless i turn codec update off). The file plays fine though. While playing and looking at properties it says it´s using Intervideo Codec (ive got the Intervideo WinDVD player installed). However using gspot it says ive got no mpeg-2 codec installed

    So, to my question.

What can i do to prevent explorer crashing, should i look for addional codec?? I thought i already got mpeg-2 codec since ive got WinDVD.. And the files plays in both of them.

    Thank you.

Don't use Explorer and / or WMP to view your mpg2 files. Use WinDVD or PowerDVD or Media Player Classic or... And turn off that damned preview thingy!

  3. Tjena Mats, haha.

Well, i suppose i could change player. It aint gonna be the WinDVD version i got now though, the sound is unbelivably crappy compared to WMP. But a new version might be better.

Yup turning off preview will work..

ps think i kinda lied before... The actual crashes of explorer seems to be related to raw *.avi´s from my advc-100 (btw, previews work though, until crash that is!). Nope, gspot tells me ive got no codec for that either. AAARGH those codecs

Well, how about PowerDVD then? It seems to share its mpeg2 codec with the system in general (something WInDVD possibly doesn't).

  5. That sounds pretty good, ill check it out. I´ve also looked up the latest version of WinDVD (6), which seem to have improved alot since my version (3).

    thanks
