My son has a year old Imac w/ and internal CD RW. I'd like to swap it out with a CD/ DVD burner, but don't want to pay 700 bucks for Mac's super drive, which is a Pioneer 107 R-.
At the local electronics outlets all I've seen lately is a Pioneer A07 DVD R-+. Has/is the A07 the newer model of the 107.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, or direction to another site that would provide instructions / comparrisons.
Thanks

The pioneer super drive for the mac is a DVR 106D, not 107.
Is the specific drive that critical for the mac to recoginize it as a super drive? -
If you can get the new 108 for the mac they may be worth the investment.
