Are they dropping the R200 from production?

I have to get a new printer for school and after all the stellar talk about the R200 I was going to go ahead and get one. There have been a few people here who said it's being discontinued though, and I don't want to get one if there's a superior model a month away. I can't find a definitive answer on the net and mail to Epson hasn't helped yet, so I don't know what to do at this point.

Anyone out there more informed on this?

I saw six or so other threads in Media mentioning the R200 and none here, so that's why I put it there.

I would have to agree. If I want info on a printer, it's usually in the media forum because it relates so closely with printable media.

Is this a new precedent? If so, I would suggest moving all the R200 threads here along with any other printer threads (doubt there are any though)

No kidding Can't please all of the people all the time ....and all.

I hadn't spotted those other R200 threads yet and I was thinking at the time "Hmmmm printers aren't media, they're peripherals". But ...they print onto media, so that's one that could go either way. Since we have members on the record now that have requested that printer issues remain in Media, I'll move this one back and future printer issues can stay in media. If that causes grief from those who want them in Computers from now on, I'll post a thread in the moderator forum and see what the other mods think.

I read the thread earlier and I don't have a clue. Sorry The only issues I've had with AC3 was finding an authoring app that would support it a while back. Hasn't been an issue since. But you have it in the right forum at least. No doubt by the end of today an audio sage will chime in with an easy fix for ya
