I have cleaned out my drive as much as possible ran antispyware, and antivirus, deleted cookies, and, temporary internet files. Switched media brands three times at still the same problem: CloneDVD says the back up was made. The disc looks like it was burned. But it won't read on my Apex player, or, on my Memorex burner. I'm now using Imation media, which I have had success with before, and, the media section of this site, most everyone has had as well no matter who Imation bought them from. Can anyone give me an idea what to try next?

  2. Have you done a 'Disc Scan' and looked for errors on your burned discs?

Get yourself a couple of Re-Writable DVDs that are compatible with your burner and DVD player. The faster the blanks are, the better. Experiment with those and U'll save in the end.
Also, try using different DVD ripper and burner programs.

I chose CloneDVD because it was the first, easiest program I found that worked for me. Can the group recommend another, trialware/freeware that I can use to see if my coaster problem is CloneDVD or is the burner?

    Hello,
Sure, dvdshrink. Just rip it as a full backup or movie only. You can burn the video_ts folder automatically with nero or manually with another dvd burning program.

What version of CloneDVD is it? The last few versions have had serious issues/bugs that have only been rectified with the latest update.

    I had orginally had v1.1.6.1,
just downloaded and installed, today, v2.4.3.1. made a back up with this version. It played on both my confuser, and, my console, but after the opening to the menu, and, the menu itself, there was no sound. I selected 2 channel audio only, since I use just the speakers to my StereoTV, and, the two speakers that came with my computer. Could that be why I had no audio during the playback of the main features? Or, was the download of 2.4.2.1 corrupted. Obviously V1.1.6.1 had become corrupted, both on my computer and on the disc I installed it from. I used a trial copy of Icopydvds2 to see if it was my burner. It worked, though it copied only part of the DVD I wanted to back up.
