My first question is, does anyone know of any way to "reverse engineer" a VCD/xVCD? I have been making backup copies of DVDs for some time. I use Smartripper 2.41, DVD2AVI 1.77.3, TMPGEnc Plus 2.58.44.152, and Nero 5.5.10.56 to burn. I made a xVCD with what I thought was amazing quality. The problem is just after I made and burned it I had a major problem and had to reinstall Windows. Now I can't remember exactly which settings I used. My other question is does anyone have any suggestions for settings/filters in TMPGEnc to squeeze the most quality out of my movies. I'm not that interested in fitting more minutes onto a CD, just trying to get the best quality I can.
