I am able to burn my AVI to SVCD using Nero but when I select SVCD in the hope of getting better quality, (having of course previously encoded it with TMPGenc) it starts to burn & after around 20% it packs up saying "Power calibration error" Burn process failed 4 x (600 K/bs). Where perhaps am I going wrong? Any idea? Thanks

Power calibration error is generally bad media or a problem with the laser in the burner.

Well strangely enough I gave it another go by reformatting the disc which when reformatted showed 500 instead of 700MB, nevertheless I added the tv footage yet again to nero and it decided to burn successfully, however, the end result shows very little difference in quality between VCD and SVCD.
It was originally a TV recording which from my DVD Recorder HD I put onto disc and then ripped it with GordonKnot to AVI and have now finally managed to burn it to CD in SVCD and it's still a bit jumpy. The original on my DVD RecorderHD is fine. Is it because it has gone through so much to find its way on to SVCD?
