As we all know burners dont last forever, especially cheap ones like the optorite dd203 that i got last christmas. Its wierd, hasnt even been a year and its already giving off bad burns 3/4ths of the time. The problem is that it gives "Rings" that are off-color, the color of the original disc basically right in the inner edge commonly. Been trying to fix it, went down the line thinking it was software. Used the current nero, a lower version of nero, dvd decrypter, alcohol 120..Still no go. Only gives good burns whenever it feels like it. I dont really want to deal with the hassle, just easier to eat the cost and get a new burner. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy an Optorite, mines dying after less than a year. Ill try to post some photos of examples of these Rings in the discs later on.

Ive been keeping my pc components in top shape ever since i got the pc. I use about 2 cans of air-duster every few months. Its not dirty, what it looks like is the burner burns, then "gives up" and then goes back to burning. WHY every app i use doesnt speak up and say "Hey stupid, its not burning it right!" i cant figure out, except that the burner is probably telling the app that it is working in fact and burning properly. As you can see by these "Rings", theyre the same color as the unburned portions of the dvds.
In conclusion, its not the Software and its not the media. All i can say is take my example and DONT purchase optorite's hardware.
Heres 6 photos of 4 example dvds that farted. These are ritek G04's, but the same thing has happened with some taiyo's as well.
