This is my first time attempting to backup a DVD. When trying to open my DVD in DVD Shrink, it either says, "data error (cyclic redundancy check)" or "sector encrypted" at 10 percent. How can i fix this? thanx.

Have you tried ripping with DVD Decrypter and then using DVD Shrink?
-
Yea, and it said it would take about 50 some hours. I'm using Smartripper right now and it's also going incredibly slow. I juss checked my ASPI layer and it's all good and updated.

When using DVD decrypter, it stops at 10% and gives me this error:
Could this DVD juss be well encrypted? -
... or dirty.

... or less likely, badly authored, either on purpose or by accident. See the thread:
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=225012.
There are some good suggestions in the thread as to how to decrypt and copy a DVD with authoring errors.
There is some debate as to whether these types of disks are mis-authored on purpose to improve the weak copy protection. -
try cleaning the dvd (of both finger prints and scratches). Toothpaste, automotive polish, Brasso metal polish, etc.
