  1. hey,

i gotta problem when i make xvids to vcd using vdub and tmpgenc. when played on my dvd player the vcd gerks and sometimes plays choppy. this happens with most xvids. sometimes i use the guide here (XVID to DIVX) and the work fine except for the fact that once in a while you see blocks in the vcd. Does anyone else experience this with Xvids? what should i do to encode them to smooth, nice vcd's or what else should i do to convert them to divx before encoding them?

    thanks a lot.

  2. Oh Ya,

Does the Four CC changer have anything to do with the blocks that appear in the divx created? i don't use it before using vdub to convert the xvid to divx, should I?

    thanks again

Does it appear the same on your computer as on your DVD player?

  4. hey,

i'm sure it does play with the sudden blocks on the computer. it doesn't happen to divx movies i encode, just xvids. you know the guide here that explains xvid to divx conversion? i do that except the avi FOUR CC changer step at the beginning. do you think that is what's causing all this? also, instead of divx 5.1, i use divx 3 because of the guarentee of audio sync and smooth playback. i just dunno how to make a divx out of an xvid that will play like all the other divx.

    any thoughts?

    thanks again
