TMPGEnc DVD - Motion Menu - can't "Play" and watch

Hey all,

Authoring a 5-track DVD, with a simple menu listing the 5 tracks, and the 'Display Main Menu' options checked.

All works well. Disc is burned and plays lovely on my standalone player.

Decide I want a motion menu, so created a 68second .mpg from the original bmp background and a 68sec audio clip. 'Use Motion Menu', 'Additional pictures for background' and 'Use audio of the background...' all checked.
Author the DVD, all is well via PowerDVD. However when the DVD is burned to a disc and played on my standalone, I am unable to select any options on the Main Menu. In fact, all I can do is watch my 68sec looped "motion" menu, nothing else. No ability to actually watch the movie/s whatsover. 'Play' or arrow keys on my remote fail to progress.

Is this likely to be a limitation of my player (cheap Medion DiVX player), or a misunderstanding on my part of what I'm trying to achieve?
