Recently, I've had yet another interesting problem with burning. When I use DVDDecrypter to burn on the LG GSA-4120B with 8X-speed media, it keeps telling me that the actual burn speed of my drive (or maybe the media) is 6X. Given that the drive is rated at 12X, I'm a tad bit annoyed. I've been updated the firmware to A104, hoping that might solve the problem. I just hope I don't have yet another defective drive.

Gee, thanks... now maybe does anyone figure they might be able to suggest what on Earth is going on? When I bought these discs, I bought them because they were rated at 8X, not 6X.

Proly just an error on the manufacturers or maybe firmware in that the 8x write descriptor didnt get put on the dvd or the firmware.I had some ricohjpnr01 that were only rated 2x and then the next few were 4x in the same spindle.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

Hmmm... well, the first disc in the spindle burned just fine at 8X. DVDDecrypter keeps saying the possible write speeds are 4X and 8X. They're HP discs in case anyone cares.
