cant view video on my desktop

Hi, can anyone help me?

I have an Adaptac USB2 Media station that uses WINDVR 3 with the tv input.

I should be able to view the tv image as my desktop, but it is greyed out! Does anyone know why this is happening and how it can be changed?

Are you running with the latest version of DirectX? I think it's ver. 9.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your capture app? Is there any way you can verify you have the proper codecs installed with your capture app?

Hi. Im currently running directx 9.0b and ive only recently installed the device onto this pc.

I was just wondering if there was anyone else with the same adaptec usb capture/tv card?

(it may not be able to allow desktop viewing? I just dunno)

BTW, i have had winamp running a visualization as my desktop, so i know its possible. But its greyed out in Windvr 3.

I may have a look for some trialware of different capturing/tv software to see if they can do this.
