  1. Hello

    I have a new firewire enclosure ( On sale, Fry's for 39 $$ ) with a new 250 GB HD ( also on sale, $99).

Ive noticed I can copy multiple files at the same time, each with a new time bar ( or what ever you call it)

I have several large iMovie files from home movies etc.

If I copy multiple files at once, do they become fragmented in the copying process? just wondering.

if so, can I defragment them later? Ive read OS X does this automacially from time to time.

    thganks

Any file can become fragmented when transferring. You have a slightly higher possibility if you copy multiple files at the same time.

I doubt that the amount of fragmentation would affect the file, though. I would not be too concerned.

However the file transfer will be somewhat slower with multiple files all at once than when transferring them individually as the computer will have to work a little harder to keep the file streams seperate.
