I always use tmpegenc when convering dvds but If i am converting a tv episode I am only going to watch once its not worth it. so for speed and high quailty I use xing I know lsx is supposed to be better but to me it isn't as good as xing.Only prob is that I can't frameserve to it!!Does anyone know how to frameserve to xing?

xing is quite high quailty for the time it takes.TMPEGenc could never be this fast and keep this kind of quailty.
Anbody know how to frameserve into it?(xing) -
you should've invested some more money (or time, depending how "honest" you are) and get the CinemaCraft MPEG encoder. for MPEG2 that is, then you got the best one possible.
try instead of frameserving using TMPGEnc and VFAPI; or something with that AviSynth thingie.

Xing HIGH QUALITY....lol...his is soooo funny Xing is soo old, fast but the qaulity just blows in fast action movements it just sux....try LSX its much better and fast but if u want the best mpeg1 go download Panasonic or TMPGEnc(free)...for mpeg 2 download CCE 2.50

I guess you want to frameserve due to the filter support of VirtualDub or Avisynth.
Xing does not accept Vdub signpost files (.vdr), maybe there is a way to convert a .vdr with VFAPIConv.1.03b, I can not remember the exact procedure.
You can frameserve with Avisynth to Xing. Download the AVS_PATCH. It's a command line utility. Copy it to the Xing encoder directory and run it from there by typing
avs_patch XMCODER.EXE
It will create a 2nd .exe file (XMCODER_avisynth.EXE)
Use the original .exe to encode .avi files and the 2nd one to encode .avs files.
Xing also accept with VFAPIConv converted dvd2avi/ TMPGEnc/ AVIutl projects. -
Thanks for the patch I am gonna try it now,Anyways I still like xing for doing tv episodes or things like that however if I was doing a good film (the matrix...etc) I would always use tmpegenc at highest quailty settings.Besides xing isn't that bad.
