    You can also set the amount of hard drive space used for the recycle bin or you could disable the recycle bin altogether and free up space.

    Not to hijack but, what's the minimum amount of RAM you recommend to run 2K or Xp without a swap file altogether?

    I wouldn't recommend that. You could be in for some bizarre memory errors if you get close to running out. Windows has been designed to use a swapfile since the early days of Windows runtime 2. At least leave a little there for it to use because without one ...who knows?
