I have a yahoo account I only check once per month. It's an old account, use it for buying things mostly, so I don't get spam to my normal e-mail.

This last month is (86) INBOX and (1312) BULK

    This was in the inbox:

I've never seen so much vile spam.

Man, I get nothing like that.
Worst I get is an advert for logo design $$$ (which I'm sure is from northcat)

    Lordsmurf,
That looks like a screen capture of my Yahoo inbox too. It's my throwaway account and I only visit it once or twice a week, but tere's never fewer than 500 or 600 spams in my inbox each time

My yahoo box actually stays pretty clean. So does my hotmail. My SBC mailbox usually only gets mail from a company promising things like Win XP Pro for $15.00. It's from an Asian "distributor".

I have a yahoo account like that too. It's my give out to anybody address. I tried removing the address from a lot of the email places, but when I'm getting over 300 spam emails a day, it's quite tiresome and I think trying to remove that email address from websites is giving the inverse reaction. They send me the same thing 6 times in a row on the same day. I tried to open another yahoo account, and just sent back and forth personal emails and never posted it to any site, after 3 weeks I was getting SPAM again. I think yahoo sells their addresses.

Blank DVDs mostly. The actual bulk box is full of tech ads.

I think Yahoo and Hotmail sell addresses.
Now this is the funny thing: on new accounts that are not used much, I get no spam. If I use it for personal things (excluding shopping even), I suddenly get a mountain of spam! WTF?!

I think "pee in our mouths" was pretty vulgar.

i noticed exactly the same thing -- i have 1 hotmail account which i rairly use which gets no spam or maybe 2 or 3 a year and another which i use for a throw away address or sign up address which gets 100-200 spam a day at least ...
    or more ..

My hotmail address doesn't get nearly as much as my yahoo address. If I let 3 days go by on yahoo, I have well over 800 in junkmail. My hotmail account I do use often, but not for giving out as a general email. I get junkmail, but after a week I have like 50 in junkmail and about a dozen SPAM in my regular mail.

  14. Until about two weeks ago, I was getting about 50-100 spams PER DAY in my Hotmail account.

Now I've been using that account for everything since...when did Hotmail first go public? Yep, it's been that long. Every six months or so they somehow get a handle on spam, and then all of the sudden, I have sixteen people telling me I need Cialis to enhance my male potency.

The worst ones are the 'Rebuild Your Credit Now' where they offer you a 'Secured' MasterCard for ONLY the following:

    $29.00 Application Fee,
    $79.00 Annual Fee,
    $19.00 Processing Fee
    $11.00 Express Mailing Fee

That's almost $150.00 for a credit card with a (Holy Shit!) $300.00 credit limit! Did they not READ my credit report before they sent that offer? Did they not see that Visa card with a limit higher than my annual income? Did they miss the fact I've been a card-carrying member of American Express for 14 years? HELLO?! ANYBODY HOME?

    Dumbasses!

This is why you and everyone else get so many things regarding credit cards. They never review your credit when they send these, and they don't look at your accounts.

Credit card applications are sent to anyone who meet any 2 of these reasons.

-An account was made with that company or an affiliate that required a pull of your credit.
-A valid mailing address(some states require that it is not a P.O.Box)
-Are over 18 years of age.

If it is a prequalified application, any 2 of the next few reasons will be included with the first 2.

-Valid account is in good standing for more than 1 year.
-Upon a previous pull of your credit, the FICO or credit score was at the qualifying level.
-Your have a valid social security number.
