  1. i copy a dvd by extracting it out using dvd encrypter and then used pin. instant copy program to copy the 8gig film to a 4.7 disc. when i put the finished dvd into the toshiba 3900, it doesn't read read the disc, it says that there is no disc or something like it and the tray ejects. but when i put it into the computers dvd-rw drive, it reads it just fine. can someone help me solve this problem. btw, i used a dvd-r not a dvd+r, and the box says that it reads dvd-r.

note, the dvd player has never been tampered with.

Not sure if you are using -R or + R media. Also what are you using to burn with? I have a 3900 and use Ritek and Prodisc DVD-R's and have had no problems with them. I burn using DVD Decryptor and Recordnow Max.

  3. i'm using dvd-r, not dvd+r cd's. i close the disc after it is written. i'm going to try using a different burning program to write the revisted parts. i'll post back on what happens.

  4. okay, i used a different copying program and it worked. the problem that i was facing originally was that i was using the pinnacle instant copy to make the dvd, which was a mistake. i think the program, maybe, placed some kind of an extra thing where it might not let the player to recognize it. anyway, if you have this player,
1--use dvd decrypter to extract the program
2--then use pinnacle instant copy to reduce the size of the file from 8gig to 4.3 gigs
3--use dvd decrypter to copy the dvd reduced movie file

one thing i don't understand is that when i used pinnacle to make the dvd copy, i went to bestbuy and tried it on some of the dvd players that they were selling, and some(maybe all) of them actually read it. i still don't know why the toshiba 3900 wouldn't read it.
