  1. I'm currently building a utility trailer in my garage and last night I painted it with cans of spray paint. Now I smell the friggin paint fumes everywhere! They are somehow embeded in my friggin' nose!

I'm at work and getting dizzy from the friggin' smell

You changed your clothes, right? The fumes most likely were absorbed by your skin. I work with solvent based liquids on a daily basis and you'd be surprised how immune you become to the smell, while you're actively working. Your skin will absorb quite a bit of the solvents and people who haven't been doing what you've been doing all day will notice that you smell like chemicals. It's probably in your hair, too, which is why the smell is still strong.

Take a steaming hot shower. That should help to sweat out most of the crap in your body.

If you weren't, wear some long pants and a long sleeved shirt next time. You can pick up a decent solvent absorbing mask at your local hardware store for about $10, too.

I've done paint jobs on things like blinds and wicker using spray paint, without the mask. I am usually sneezing the color out for a day or two afterward. It may get in your hair and on your skin, but a lot does go up your nose (and into the lungs ).

  10. Dude, you gotta wear a cartridge respirator (the dust masks wont help)... I had to buy one 5-6 years back for cutting asbestos tiles and I swap out between two different cartirdges (particle and chemical/fumes).... go get one before the next round of spraying.... save those remaining brain cells.

You don't want to be sniffing spray paint and get that enamel gunk in your lungs with the color dyes. Just go out and get something with regular ether vapor. Wart remover is probably the best source for it. New Sharpie and Marks-A-Lot markers are good too. And the new plastic smell when you open a Trapper-Keeper for the first time.
