just purchased a brand new LITEON (8x DVD+R/4x DVD+RW/4x DVD-R/2x DVD-RW).
i used TMPGEnc DVD author to create a simple NTSC DVD project with 4 original DV shorts created in vegas and encoded to MPEG2 in TMPGEnc Plus 2.5. i created a .iso, which burned successfully to the DVD-R at 2.3x speed using NERO Burning ROM.
the final product plays fine on my computer's 8x reader using PowerDVD player, but seems to occasionally skip/stagger/freeze when played on my APEX AD-660 standalone player. i tried it on my neighbor's 2 year old SHARP and got the same random imperfections.
-is it the the standalone players age or quality?
-is it the DVD medium? (Memorex 4x DVD+R)
-is it my record settings?
...while the imperfections do not render the DVD unwatchable, i really need to burn these discs in the most compatible way to limit a playback problem when i give them to others, especially if they're paying me for the work.
i appreciate any help possible!
