  1. Some xvid encoded files i downloaded wont open in tmpgenc or virtual dub. I assume it's not an encoding problem because out of the 9 files, 2 did work, and they were all encoded by the same person. V-dub has verfied that there are several bad frames in each file. I've tried div-fix but that doesn't find them. Does anybody know of a utility that can fix these frames or remove them altogether?

No guarantee that it will work but give 'divxrepair' a try.

  3. Thanks for th link, bunyip.

I gave that a shot. Out of around 33000 frames in each file, it found around 32000 to be corrupt. It also turn out, that ALL of the files are bad, the only working parts, are extra credits added by someone else. So not I guess it IS an encoding problem. But the files do play without a hitch. What can I do without TMPENC and virtual-dub?

  9. Ok I tried that just now. After installing nics codec, the video files wouldn't play properly, lots of crashes, weird artifacts etc.. I'm about to just give up.
