  1. I have the spiderman dvd and i'm backing it up. I used vob blanker to blank out some of the special features and there is a section where there is the spiderman trailer.

I have a different spiderman trailer (quicktime) which i encoded to a mpeg2 (dvd) and renamed to .vob. In vobblanker there is an option for replacing the vob, so i clicked it and replaced it with this one.

The problem is when i load the completed dvd into dvdshrink, it comes up with an error. I'm guessing that u can't change the vob's without reauthoring the whole dvd???? Does anyone know how i can do replace a vob file with my own ??

    Thanks

lol, I lost my reply yesterday and didn't have time to post it again but here it is

I don't know how voblanker fully works but does it not replace the VOB and update the IFO's?. I would have thought it did

Menuedit and DVDRemake are 2 other programs I know that replace VOB's but they aint free

the longer free way is to use Ifoedit by splitting the VTS into individual cell ID's and isolating that cell containing the trialer. Replace the cell but you must also use Vobedit to check the original VOB/CELL ID and change the VOB/CELL ID of the new trailer to the same values. Join all the cells back up again (Filemerger comes in handy) and then run through Ifoedit to update the IFO's and VOB sectors

with any method you use, you must also ensure that the audio/subs stream formats & mapping match the titleset you are putting the cell into or else you will get an error. Maybe this is what is causing DVDShrink to barf in the first place. If it is then you may be able to fix it by changing the stream code using Vobedit to something that matches the original
