  1. Creating a DVD with menu in Ulead movie maker.
When creating the DVD menu, on the menu screen it displays the first frame of the mpg file as the button icon.

However, because the mpg movie begins with a fade from black, the picture icon displayed on the menu is black... no picture.

Easy solution: place a single image frame at the beginning of the mpg. Unfortunately, I do not have the original source files so cannot re-render the image.

So the question is: how do I add a single frame to the beginning of the mpg file so that a picture is displayed on the DVD menu, not a black screen?

    Thanks,
    WW

that's not neccessary. if u click on the black icon it will bring up a screen where u can search thru the movie and select any frame as the icon.

Man, you know what? What a moron (me). As many times as somebody has yelled RTFM to me, I disregarded it. Your answer clearly demonstrates there may be some benefit in doing so after all!

Hmmmmm, I'll have to consider it next time.

    Thanks for you helpful answer.
