Ok, I have a 2Wire PCMCIA wireless Card for my laptop that I was using with my 2Wire DSL Box for SBC DSL. But I'm confused about how to set it up to work at my office with our LinkSys Broadband Router. We have a network here so should I use some type of network settings to get it to work? Also how would I get it to work with another Wireless Router/Hub.

Thanks in advance for any help guys,

    Venom

P.S. I tried just turning on my laptop here at work and my card nor my PC detected anything.

Is the Linksys at work a wireless router? If not, your wireless card in your laptop cannot connect to it. Other wireless routers can broadcast a SSID, or basically, a name for the wireless network that your card would be able to detect. Then, if allowed, you could connect to it.

If the router is not broadcasting an SSID you won't detect it, unless you're already using the same SSID. Have you spoken to your admin about hooking up wireless? They probably have all the info you need.

SSID is basically the wireless network name. If it's being broadcast by the router you'll see it and you can connect to it. If it's not, you at least need to know what it is so you can set up a profile using that SSID. Otherwise you won't be able to connect.
