Can someone tell me is it substantially better (quality wise) to use multiple passes when encoding with divx?

Is there a tutorial for making multiple passes with divx? Or can someone give me a run down on this procedure (using flask)?

    Thanks guys

  2. yes .. always use two passes .. unless you only want to use one pass CBR or one pass quality encoding

    Ok then.

How is it done within Flask? Can it be done within Flask?

    Is there a tutorial?

If encoding Divx with 2 passes is the encoding time doubled or significantly lengthened?

  5. Definitely do DivX 2-Pass... quality is much better and file size much more predictable. It's easy with XMPEG, but yoiu need to have Flask v 0.7.8 to be able to do 2-Pass encoding. Enable "2-Pass encoding" in the global options, and when in 'Configure Output Module" click on the first pass settings and configure, then click on the second pass settings and configure. Do not mess with it after that, even though the tab will go right back to first pass settings - it will be just fine. Chose your audio compression and click OK, then Flask it and wait for a while.
