  4. Me too, Norton Ghost. But i have a DVD-RAM drive, so no 'burning' involved...

I've tried R-DriveImage, it cam make a backup of the active partition, from the active operating system, onto the disk being archived, which is not bad if you have little space. Unfortunatelly it needs boot disks/CD to restore it, but what doesn't?

I have multiple primary partitions, and stick with GHOST for now, this way i can restore a primary from another primary...

Partition Magic, Boot Magic, Norton Ghost - That's about it, with these you can do everything, like resize partitons, backup, restore, boot from/to and convert. I have DVD-RAM, so far it is better for archiving than DVD-R (i backup files separate, not images...), don't have DVD-RW, so can't tell about that...

  5. Powerquest Drive Image 2002 is the only program that has been found by Maximum PC to work with SATA drives so that was my choice. After multiple frustating problems with Ghost and a hard drive rendered unusable that required a new format I could not be happier with Powerquest. The only problem is that Norton bought them out so don't look for anything but arrogant support if any.
Still a few bugs in the system...

    Nero can do it.
But, Nero backs up the entire partition, not just
    the data.

So, it's a good idea to keep your OS(and prograqms) partition
small if you wish to back it up.
