Following our previous discussion about the quality of svideo and composite connections, I find myself as confused as ever. I'm trying to use a high quality svid/phono to scart [vivanco] to use a video out from my amp as input to the jvc 9800. Now i was expecting to see a high quality signal but the recording was dire [going into av2].. so i start moving things around to test the amps output, the lead, and so on. Having disconnected the monitor out from amp to tv and viewing the aforementioned video out to the tv i can switch modes on the tv between composite and svideo input and compare.. the composite setting is attrocious, ghosting, discolouring floating around, interference.. and when i switch to svid it looks great, as though when i had this feeding the vcr i was recording the compsite signal, but given all we said before why is it so poor? Is it just combinations of scart leads using composite that is inherently bad..? Any why isnt the av2 in on the vcr taking the svideo.. its set to it...

I sorted the svideo recording by using av1 as input instead, but still.. is odd about the composite thing huh
