  1. Hi

I have a movie and want to be able to put it on DVD. I am able to convert the movie with TMPGEnc Plus, but there is no sound.

I have tried to extract the sound with Gold wave but it will not recognize it. I’ve tried to find out more about the file by using GSpot, but not being an .AVI file it was useless.

The file is 3ivx MPEG-4 and is 690MB in size.

    Can anybody help??

    Yo,

If you're feeling brave, try BeSweet (I do NOT know if it will cope with 3ivx... but try it anyway)

If you're feeling positively Bond-like, try Graph Edit

  6. 3ivX MP4 should be AAC audio. MP4UI should be able to extract AAC from a MP4 package.

To decode to *.wav, a simple tool is "aacDECdrop". Its based on FAAD2, and is available at RareWares.

  7. I am able to get the .aac file, but can not convert it to .wav that link to the program will not work. Well the link works but I can't get the program to work. (aacDECdrop)

Goldwave is suppose to be able to convet .aac, but it will not.

    Any more ideas guys???

Do you get an error message?

Some of the apps on that page require the library file " libmmd.dll" to work properly.

Extract it to the same directory as aacDECdrop and try again.

Another option would be to install the 3ivX trial and load the MP4 into TMPGEnc by choosing "Open / All files".

  9. Thanks alot M8 that worked a treat. But the file is now 1.4GB what would but my best bet to convert it to a smaller size.

I was thinking of using Goldwave to convert it, maybe to mp3 would this still play in a DVD player?

    Hello,
starfox_2100-I was thinking of using Goldwave to convert it, maybe to mp3 would this still play in a DVD player?
Mp3 is NOT dvd compliant. Most author programs won't even take it (tmpgenc dvd author doesn't, I believe). You'll want to convert it to ac3 or .mp2 (mpeg audio layer 2) if at all possible. Ac3 is the dvd standard in the US (mp2 is mostly Europe right? I can play them here I just don't know what Europe's main spec is for dvd). Hope this helps.

  11. Thanks alot guys for the help.

It took a while but I finally got the audio.

I convert the .WAV to AC3 then realised that you need the AC3 plug in for tmpgenc dvd author, So I then converted it to .MP2 and burned the movie to DVD and it WORKS with sound.
