  1. I recently moved from Goldwave to Audition and I'm having trouble compressing / expanding time on wav files that have been extracted from avi files.

I've found the setting that allows compression/stretching (Time/Pitch->Stretch) but I don't see any value that relates to the actual time of the clip (i.e. the length field doesn't correspond to the length of the clip but some other value which i can't figure out).

Any help would be much appreciated.

  2. CoolEdit Pro um I mean Audition expresses the time stretch in total seconds, accurate to 1/1000th of a second. So if you have a 1 minutes clip and want to make it 59.5 seconds, you would time stretch to 59.500. Another example, you have a video that is one hour, 30 minutes, 30.4 seconds. Or:

1:30:30;400 = 5430.400 as expressed by Audition. Stupid I know.

Stick to using Goldwave for time stretching.

  3. Ok, got it, thanks. I had a feeling it was somehow connected to the length but I didn't realize I needed a math degree

I agree about Goldwave, you can't beat it for ease of use. Just thought I'd look around to see what else is out there...

    Thanks again for your help.
