I know that xvids require the DirectShow Multimedia Filter to be set to a priority of 2 in TMPGEnc, but will that setting work for divx files as well? Or are divx files better off with the default setting of a priority of -1 for DirectShow?

Mine's set to zero and I don't have any problems. I have Avi2 and AviVFW above it as the highest priorities.

Really? I always thought the direct show filter had to be reset to the default of -1 when converting divx to mpeg-2.
Anyone else with testimony either way?
