I just got this device a few days ago and it's driving me NUTS. I've been using the Adaptec but now that I'm doing DVDs and not VCDs there's a quality issue. So I hooked up the DVD Xpress, captured a movie, and it wouldn't play on my DVD player. I captured it at an 8000 bitrate. I searched through the forums and tried EVERYTHING -- capturing/encoding at 352/240, changing from VBR to CBR and back again, lowering the bitrate. The DVD will play now, but no matter what I do, the video is stuttering and jerking and the whole thing just looks awful.
I've been using the bundled VideoStudio 7, but I've also encoded with TMPGenc, ShowBiz, Pinnacle, and I've burned with Sonic and damned near everything else.
I'm SURE there's something I don't know I'm doing wrong. Do I just take this thing back and get something else? Can anyone help? I'd really appreciate it!
