Look at the bright side....only four more months until winter!

I've been to Fresno a couple of times. Unfortunately, usually in the summer!

I was near there 10 years ago on a visit to Yosemite National Park.

I can remember seeing a road direction to Fresno while on a bus trip from San Francisco.

I can also remember seeing another road sign saying 200 miles to Los Angeles.

I remember on that day so HOT and a very dry Californian summer.

What a HOT night there now:

  8. Don't ask me how the hell it happened but that's been the average temp in the northwest lately too. I can't take this sudden upsurge of heat. I'm dying just wearing shorts. Give me back my rain and clouds

The funny thing about it as that of foggy San Francisco was the coolest place I can remember in the American summer.

I remember having to wear a jacket and taking an umbrella with me just in case for rain.

Not long after on a bus trip got so HOT on my way to central California.

Can you see as so much cooler at the Frisco?

It is currently at 62º F at 01:56 am.

Not so bad here. We usually get our hot weather over with by mid-July, and then the rainy season starts. That's where we're at now. It ends mid-August. Our humidity is usually 50% or so at night but drops to 10 - 20% by afternoon:

It's been over 100 here everyday since May. And now we're "supposedly" in monsoon season, so humidity has kicked up a little and we've had a little rain. It's horrid when the temp gets up to 107+ after it rains. You feel like you're going to suffocate.

    Hello,
I wouldn't complain too much if I were you. Here in Michigan we've only had a few days in the 90's this year! I don't like it too hot but it's not even going to hit 70 today! I like it when it's mid 80's and no humidity, not that we ever get that much

I'll remember to let you know how nice it is here this winter. When it's 67 degrees outside in the middle of January and you're freezing you arse off

Thayne... don't be too pissed at Kevin.... look at it this way...

    - In the beginning of September his leaves will be all gone
    - It will start to snow around Holloween and won't stop until Easter
    - It will get to 30 or 40 below zero, often for weeks at a time
    - His heating bill, per month, will be more than your A/C bill the whole summer
    - At the end of December it will pitch black by 3:30 in afternoon....

In winter, his life will suck a lot more than yours does now.

Well, I guess your not a winter person huh? . I like cross country skiing and having a change of seasons, (4 is a lot nicer than 1 in my book).

DVD_Ripper-Thayne... don't be too pissed at Kevin.... look at it this way...

Actually some winters we hardly get any snow . That bit of starting at Halloween is a bit off. Real snow won't start till November if then. What world do you live in where it stays that cold that long??? It's not Antartica, it's Michigan.

And it's dark at 4:30 not 3:30, hah! (just kidding, it does stink having it dark so long). But that just makes it nicer for watching movies at 6pm - the shades don't have to be pulled!

Yeah, it hasn't been that bad this year. Mostly 80s then all of a sudden I wake up to this. 60s for the rest of the week but it will be back to 80s by the end of the weekend.

On the real hot days we used to try to plan stuff at the lakefront, like Lincoln Park Zoo, Grant Park, Oak Street beach, etc. It was so nice catching a cool easterly breeze off the lake on a 95 degree day

Of course the downside was having to hop on the Kennedy and if we didn't time it right, get stuck in a traffic jam
