Hi,
To save place, I would like to burn on DVD either VCD or SVCD mpg files, if possible without losing their original quality with a recompression.
However it seems like no software allows for instance to use a VCD/SVCD structure on a DVDR media?
I think Nerovision could import my VCD/SVCD files to create a Video DVD, but then I guess it must recompress my files...

You can take vcd files and author them straight to DVD which will play on all dvd players...vcd video is DVD compatible. The authoring step does not recompress the video, it only creates the vob and other necessary DVD files using your vcd's.
SVCD video is not a valid dvd resolution. It can either be converted to a dvd resolution, or burned to dvd as-is which will not be compatible on all players.
For step by step guides look up VCD to DVD and SVCD to DVD under format conversion in the green All Guides section over there <-<-<-."Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa -
OK somebody told me where I could find what I wanted: http://www.svcd2dvd.com/
