  1. Hi all

Why do downloaded movies that are compressed with Divx 5 have fairly high quality video and sizes around 750mb. I transferred my video clips via firewire using Ulead Video Studio ( DV type 2 ). The files were enormous as expected but after coverting them using all kinds of codecs and birates from 500 up to 2400, my final copy is not that great.

I used Power Director and Adobe Premiere but the svcd still has a few blurry area's. This happens when I use the DV AVI, but my video's are perfect.

I read many posts but none that can explain where one could go wrong in producing a svcd. Is it because I'm using Ulead, Power Director and Adobe?. After reading all these posts I am going to keep my AviVI's in the original DV type. 13gig/hr but I know I'm keeping the best quality.

Second question is, why is Ulead the only one to record my audio from the DVC. Adobe, Windv, Stoiks and many others did not record audio. I only have the firewire cable as an input from the DVC.

Any idea's to what I can tweak to make a better svcd? I prefer quality at all costs.

    Thanks
    Nick

You must be missing something in the settings, as all of these should have transferred the audio as well. It is in the same file, after all.

As for quality - experimenting with the settings is the best way to get something that works for you. The biggest problem is that to get the best results, you need to tailor the settings for specific sections of the clip. One size doesn't always fit all.
