  1. Under win2K how can you verify highspeed?
I looked under performance viewer and there isn't a counter for USB transport or interface, least I didn't see it I use that puppy for everything and it bums me that there's nothing for USB.

That being said, how can I tell I'm running at max speed for USB2?

BTW, I installed a new USB2/firewire card. Win2k would let me install VIA's driver. I had to use win2K's version. (device manager shows enfanced so I know at least it installed the USB2 version)

Task manager show CPU usage at a steady 50% with my P4 2.6ghz

    Well, first this:

    Then your computer will crash.

Seriously you need a bus speed meter to tell how fast it's working or a benchmark. Onboard speed is set in BIOS, speeds for PCI cards are always at their highest AFAIK.

  3. Guess it's running at full USB2 spped. I transfered 60gb over to it and it only took like a half hour or so. I know when it was on my USB1.1 it took about 12 hours to transfer 40gb

I also did some search for problems and came across a few that said that their data (4gb files) was being corrupted. They tested it by using winRAR with recovery mode on a 4gb file, transferring it to a USB drive, then back again. They then tested the file via winRAR and it came up with errors. The bit count was the exact same too. I did the same test on a 6gb file, and I did not get any errors.

  4. Control Panel, System, Device Manager...

Under USB Settings you will see the word "Enhanced" denoted on one of the USB devices loaded

    Already said I saw that

I was looking at a way to measure the actual speed, like you can on the IDE/SCSI interface

Don't quote me but, I THINK SiSoft Sandra is able to test throughput on external drives.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.
