  2. If you have Toast 6.x go to the Data tab and select DVD-ROM (UDF). Drag your folder into the window. Go to File>Save as Disc Image and there you go.

Without Toast you might try a program like DVD Imager

  4. Double click DVD Imager first to open up the window and try dragging the VIDEO_TS folder onto it. Then click create image (the button underneath and it should prompt for a save location.

Correct me if I am wrong, but .dmg and .bin and other image formats are interchangeable with the .toast extension. I've always been able to rename them and get programs like disk copy to mount them.

As for the lack of Audio, that should not be affected by the image creation. I have never come across a DVD that uses the AUDIO_TS folder, and the image is just putting a file structure around your already builr VIDEO_TS. Try playing your VIDEO_TS (not the image) in Apple's DVD Player and see if you have any audio then. Nothing in the authoring process should have affected your audio.

  9. so when im ripping a dvd(i use a mac), i can keep the 6channel or the 2 channel audio.

what kind of effect is this going to have on my video if i chose the 5.1 over the 2 channel?

does the video quality even have anything to do with the audio?

  10. Will audio have an effect on video quality? Depends on the space you have in your DVD-ROM. If the video you ripped all in all is less than 4 GB then I wouldn't worry about how much space you use for audio tracks. They tend to be pretty small anyway, and if you have DTS, then keep the 5.1 stream, if you have stereo then keep the stereo stream, if you want both, the difference will be negligible in terms of video image quality. I doubt you could tell the differnce of a few hundred megs of bitrate anyway. So did you rip without sound? Did you uncheck the boxes in DVD2One or something? I would suggest reading up a little on your DVD ripping, there are many guides on the net including this site.
